‘Puzzled face, mic incident, canine teeth, bright smile, rarely speaks but never fails to make fans laugh, Pikachu’
These are what probably comes to fans’ mind when we talk about Praewa Suthamphong or Music BNK48. A 17-year-old idol, one of the top members who debuted as center of the first single ‘Aitakatta’, who received as much attention as the Captain, Cherprang Areekul.
Almost a year has passed since then. Music has excellently delivered love to all and has been everyone’s lively “Miss Sun” all along.
Hard work, competition, and high expectations combined are too heavy a burden for a 17-year-old girl to bear. All along she has chosen to hide those feelings, without anyone noticing, behind her smile and those little canines of hers. However, that was until she revealed what was on her mind (via VOOV live on 28 January 2018) along with tears she couldn’t withhold. Fans were dismayed at what was happening to their Sun that has shone on them all along.
On the other hand, critics accused her of many things. Some said she was crying crocodile tears, some said she was too weak to be an idol, and etc. Luckily, THE STANDARD had the chance to exclusively talk to Music before that incident, and the conversation we had immediately made us understood that ultimately, she isn’t someone else. She is a girl, a cute, lively, serious, with delicate feelings, and a very honest to herself kind of girl.
Not sure what the definition of idols are for others, but for me, I think ‘honesty to oneself’ is one of the interesting qualities for idols to have in the present.
